AER LINGUS FLYING HIGH WITH SAVINGS

Irish airline Aer Lingus has bounced back from a difficult summer with a reported 2.9 per cent rise in passenger numbers during September – and it is now offering a number of enticing deals and offers to keep holidaymakers flying high.

The airline reports that its numbers rose to 954,000 from 927,000 during the same month last year with the number of short-haul passengers increasing by 2.5 per cent to 862,000; while long-haul passengers increased seven per cent to 92,000.

All booked up

Its numbers were similarly impressive on its regional routes – where they increased by 44.9 per cent to 71,000.

According to Aer Lingus, its booked load factor – that is how many seats it fills on each flight – increased by 2.9 points during the period to 83.9 per cent. In fact its short-haul booked load factor reached 82.5 per cent, up 1.9 points compared to the same period last year, while its long-haul booked load factor also increased – gaining 5.2 points to reach 87 per cent.
